Linda Scola - BIOGRAPHY
I am an en plein air artist working exclusively in oils with a wet Into wet technique. My love of nature and architecture has inspired many paintings done on location in New England, Florida, and on several trips to Italy. In 2015, I was selected as Artist in Residence at the Nantucket School of Art and Design. During my stay I created charming paintings of Nantucket which were sold right off the easel. As a juried member of the North Shore Art Association in Gloucester MA, I exhibit in the summer at one of the oldest art associations in the country.
Several New England galleries have represented me including Milk Room Framery, Jeffersonville, Vt., The Studio at Day Hill, Falmouth, MA; Zullo Gallery, Medfield, MA; Lexington Arts and Crafts Society; Abajona Gallery, Winchester; Fidelity Investments, Boston; The United States Federal Courthouse, Boston; Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Cancer Survivors Art Show, Boston; and the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. I've also published an article in Pleiades Art Magazine on image transfers, demonstrated at several art leagues and judged shows.
My style and approach to painting has developed through the years by taking classes and workshops from people whose work I admired , such as Helen Van Wyk, Rob Liberace (top under 40 year old artist as featured in Artist Magazine); Lois Griffel (from the Cape Cod school of Art), Mark Hayden, David Curtis, Paul Goodridge, Harold Kloongian (past president of North Shore Art Association), Don Stone, Betty Lou Schlemm. I find workshops and continued study stimulates my own growth and I hope my students will benefit from my training.
I accept commissions and my work is available for sale by contacting me through my email at [email protected], lindascolaart.weebly.com, or my cell 508-654-1387. Thank you for visiting my site and please feel free to leave me comments.
